The Joseph Racing Race Day will be the first to feature an extra race bringing the number of races to nine, which has been supported by Trainers with fantastic fields.

The Club will still hold the same number of races across the year with meetings between April and June to hold seven races each.

The change aims to boost the overall turnover received by the club. Canberra Racing Club Chief Executive Officer Andrew Clark said "The club is continually looking at options to grow its revenue base and analysis has shown the addition of an extra race in the peak spring and summer periods at the expense of the quite winter period will grow overall turnover on Canberra race meetings".

After a false start, Spring seems to be back on track with temperatures set to reach 23 on Friday. A perfect day for racing lies ahead with blue skies and big fields.

The total number of starters sits at 118, up from 75 at the previous meeting.

Those attending the Joseph Racing Race Day event will have a keen eye on the track with Barbara Joseph having runners in six of the nine races including three live hopes in the CE Construction Solutions Plate over 1600m.
"Vellichor, our runner in the last is a great hope" Barbara Joseph said.

"We've got about 280 people coming to our race day event up in the Silks Room, it'll be great to get all the new owners and new people involved together".

Trainer, Keith Dryden, fresh off securing a Kosciuszko slot for his star gelding, Handle The Truth, will look to have a big influence on the day with ten runners spread across seven races.

Dryden's Eve's Miss will be looking to go one better in the TAB Federal worth $40,000 after finishing behind I Am Kalani in last meeting's edition of the race. Eve's Miss will have to get passed a strong field highlighted by Matthew Dale's Canberra Guineas Preview winner, Sausedge as the lead up to the TAB Tony Campbell Memorial Cup heats up.
