Classy filly Funstar followed her narrow but game win in the Tea Rose Stakes (Gr 2, 1400m) at this track a fortnight ago with an impressive victory in this Group 1 race, her fourth win in five starts. She was smartly away and went to the front and then steadied the tempo until pressured (by Probabeel) from the 600m. She dashed clear nearing the 200m and then drew away to score easily, running the 1600m out strongly. Probabeel, runnerup to the winner here in the Tea Rose Stakes had to contend with another second here. She was handy early on before Kerrin McEvoy took her up to race outside her main rival (Funstar) at the 1000m. She challenged rounding the home turn and then battled on nicely in the sprint home for (3.3 lengths) second. Foxborough raced in fourth place to the home turn and then held on to take the minor placing narrowly from St Covet's Spirit who made from last in the six-horse field for (7 lengths) fourth.
