3 minute read

Apprentice Kayla Crowther kept her good winning run going when Calypso Reign won the 1200 metre opening race at Morphettville on Saturday.

Having its second start the David Jolly Calypso Reign settled well before making his run on the home turn to bring up his maiden win.

Trainer Phillip Stokes and his apprentice Gary Lo completed a double in twenty four hours when the first starter Taken Off came from well back to claim his first victory at his first start in the 1050 metre second race.

After several tries in recent times apprentice Jerry Chau brought up his first city winner when Wasabi Bob took out the 2040 metre third race.

Being under the care of Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas, Wasabi Bob fought off several challengers to lead all the way.

Xilong brought up successive wins for the McEvoy stable in the 1200 metre fourth race.

Having the services of Barend Vorster Xilong led all the way to bring up win number three from four starts.

Victorian apprentice Georgina Cartwright kept her good Adelaide record intact when she guided Tongsai Boss to a win in the 1600 metre fifth race.

Coming out of the John n Hyam stable Tongsai Boss was well placed.

After running fourth at his previous start at Murray Bridge Korodon continued the run of on-pace runners to be successful when he won the 1800 metre sixth race for Richard and Chantelle Jolly and rider Jake Toeroek.

Apprentice Kayla Crowther brought up a double when she guided Octane to victory in the 1050 metre seventh race.

Making it two wins in succession and giving trainer Phillip Stokes a double Octane came from well back and powered home with a strong run over the concluding stages.

The father and son training team of Tony and Calvin McEvoy secured the second leg of a double when Jentico took out the 1200 metre final event.

Being first up from a spell and giving Barend Vorster a double Jentico resumed racing in fine style by leading all the way.
