Caulfield Cup failures Gold Mount and Qafila have been announced as non runners in the Melbourne Cup on November 5.
Connections of both horses advised racing Victoria stewards today that both stayers wil not be starters at Flemington.
The import Gold Mount will not race again over the spring carnival after pulling up lame in his off foreleg after the Caulfield Cup.
The Lindsay Park stable have ruled Qafila out of the Melbourne Cup but have not confirmed other race plans for the stayer.
