Having his first attempt at stakes class, ultra consistent Master Of Wine proved a class above here, careering away to win as he liked, for win three at start 12. Equal last and four wide early he improved soon after to settle third last and one off the fence where he remained past the 1200m and on to the 800m. Three wide he quickly ran up from the 600m and turning in was four wide but looking the biggest danger. Into the straight he caught the leaders at the 300m then kicked clear, racing away to win easily. Maurus began his run from the 800m, moved up to fourth at the 400m then kept finding between runners but was no match for the winner. Master Of Arts took over the lead three wide at the top of the straight and kept on well for third, the first three well clear of the rest.
