After getting a lovely run behind the leaders, Madam Rouge had her biggest win in the 2019 The Nivison at Randwick on Saturday.
She was challenged either side but fought them all off.

Winning Trainer: Chris Waller (Charlie Duckworth comments)
On the run: "We got the run of the race. It was a nice tempo and when she peeled out she just had to tough it out to the line. It was good to get a group win for a mare like her. We have always thought a lot of her but she hadn't been able to reach her full potential. Hopefully we are right on track to get there now."
On where she is now: "Her first up run two weeks ago was fantastic. You always worry when they run that well fresh up in case they are flat for the second run. She had challenges from both sides and toughed it out to the line. Will be interesting to hear what Brenton has to add."
Winning Jockey: Brenton Avdulla
On riding winners: "On Wednesday I had to pull the pin after a couple of races. I've been riding for 12 years now. I was riding 54kg today. It was nice to come here and get a result."
On the mare: "She gave me a great ride. She just wanted to overrace a fraction. Today from where we drew Chris just wanted me to tuck in behind the speed. I thought it could work out if nothing kicks up underneath me. When I was able to find the fence I thought it was race over. She was challenged at the furlong but had that bit of class."
Beaten Jockeys:
Rachel King (Pretty In Pink): "Really good run considering the little bit of malfunction with the gates, it came back in her face, but good run first time in the blinkers."
Glen Boss (Miss Fabulass): "She was outstanding, she's got a few little issues, you have to sort of ride her to get her to relax. Can't wait to see what her splits were, her last 600m must have been off the charts. She's got a lot of talent, now she can probably be stepped up to the right distance and if she draws a gate she'll be hard to beat."
Jay Ford (Celebrity Dream): "On face value certainly disappointing, but she didn't feel comfortable on that fast ground, just looking for some cut in it."
Glyn Schofield (Multaja): "It made it difficult from where she was drawn and obviously how the race was run, but she ran pretty well."
Josh Parr (Moss Trip): "She's found form again which is pleasing for the stable and connections. Didn't get the clearest shot at them either."
Robbie Dolan (Ready To Prophet): "She had the race to suit her, she cruised along nicely in front, gave a good kick, the track is pretty firm and she probably wants a little bit of juice in it, but she ran really well."
Jason Collett (Nicci's Gold): "Good return."
Tim Clark (Reelem In Ruby): "She was very good and honest again, she never runs a bad race. She had a lovely run just wasn't able to run down the winner."
Kathy O'Hara (Spanish Dream): "I think she is just a mare who prefers a bit of give in the ground, probably a bit too firm for her."
