Sydney three-year-olds Cosmic Force and Exceedance turned heads with impressive efforts in a jump out at Flemington on Friday.

Cosmic Force and Exceedance got the feel of the Flemington straight ahead of their clash in next Saturday's $1 million Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m).

While they worked strongly observers were not as taken with the effort of last season's top colt Microphone to finish fifth behind Cosmic Force and Exceedance.

Microphone will be taking on the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) second up after resuming with a fair third behind Cosmic Force in the Roman Consul Stakes at Randwick on October 12.

The second heat of the morning included two other Coolmore Stud Stakes contenders Libertini and Californbia Zimbol.

Hey Doc, the G1-winning sprinter working his way back to racing after a lengthy break due to injury, won the heat narrowly from the last start Caulfield winner California Zimbol, a Peter and Paul Snowden-trained stablemnate of Cosmic Force.

California Zimbol showed she had gone ahead since her classy Caulfield win as she worked wel within herself and could have won the heat if put under pressure.

Libertini has been freshened since she was beaten as odds-on favourite in the G2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) on September 21 and wasn't asked for any serious work behind Hey Doc but looked comfortable on the straight course.

Meanwhile Godolphin trainer James Cummings has not ruled out a Coolmore Stud Stakes start for Bivouac after his luckless sixth behind Loving Gaby in the Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley last Friday night.

"He just about had a six furlong barrier trial," Cummings said.

"He's in the nominations for the Coolmore and we will have that discussion."
