The Lindsay Park-trained/Shadwell-raced filly Aryaaf staged an impressive effort in winning here on debut. She settled nicely for Luke Nolen, just back from the leading group on the grandstand side, in sixth place. She moved up to challenge at the 300m but momentarily raced greenly, ducking about before Nolen straightened her, she then recovered, soon hit the front and went on to score comfortably. She looks a filly with a good future. The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained filly Muntaseera was slowly away and then settled just off the leaders racing on the far side, before going to the front at the 200m. She then battled gamely for a good second on debut. Her stablemate Marchena contested the lead on the grandstand side, but showed her inexperience at the 300m by running about but then did well in fighting back to take third in a photo from La Girl who had led the field on the grandstand side before holding on well for fourth.
