Moe meeting to start early because of heat

3 minute read

A forecast for hot weather has prompted officials to adjust the race times for a Moe meeting.

A race meeting at Moe will start and finish two-and-a-half hours earlier than scheduled because of a forecast for hot weather.

Racing Victoria has announced revised start times for Thursday's Moe meeting, which will now begin at 11am with the final race on the eight-race program to jump at 2.30pm.

RV said the meeting had been brought forward from its original 1.30pm start time with temperatures predicted to reach 38 degrees in the afternoon.

RV's hot weather policy will also be enacted to ensure the health and wellbeing of horses as well as jockeys, trainers and their stable staff.
