Both were completed by the highly-skilled team at EPC Solar. One hundred percent of energy produced by the new solar panels are consumed on site and take a massive weight off Thoroughbred Park's carbon footprint. The cut in emissions is the equivalent to 22.5 cars being taken off the road per year or 1,754 trees being planted.

Canberra Racing Club CEO, Andrew Clark stated "The Canberra Racing Club is committed to the environment and is proud of the installation of a solar power system and Tesla charging station at Thoroughbred Park."

"The Club is already seeing the financial benefits of the system that is similarly enabling us to utilise renewable power on course and having charging stations available to members of the public" A deal was struck between the Canberra Racing Club and EPC Solar which incorporated the sponsorship of the Canberra Guineas Preview, to be held on the inaugural Canberra Mile Race Day.

EPC Solar Managing Director said of the agreement "we're very happy to be a part of the racing community and we're more than happy to assist anyone looking to go down the renewable energy path."

"The annualised return on investment for Thoroughbred Park over 25 years is 36%. It really is amazing savings."Patrons attending race days and non-race day functions will now be able to utilise the newly installed Tesla charging stations.

"The move to install Tesla charging stations shows that Thoroughbred Park is innovative and dedicated to doing the right thing." EPC Solar Managing Director Daryn Stocks said.
The installation also included the overhaul of traditional lightbulbs in favour of more sustainable LED lighting cutting maintenance and billing costs by up to 75%.
