Trainer Tony Mcevoy will walk the Gold Coast track on Thursday morning as part of decision-making process on whether his filly Grand Scholar will run on Saturday.

Grand Scholar has accepted for the $250,000 Magic Millions Rising Stars Fillies and Mares at the Gold Coast.

It is pencilled in as a chance for her to qualify for the $2 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas on Saturday week.

However, she drew barrier 16 which has left McEvoy in a quandary.

"I scratched her last week when she drew barrier 23. Now she has barrier 16," McEvoy said.

"I am not keen to give her a gut-buster a week before a big race. But I might not have any choice."

Grand Scholar is 28th in the order of entry for the Guineas with $112,000 in prize money but several horses above her are unlikely to accept.

"I want to have a really good look at the order of entry and see our chances of a start without running Saturday," McEvoy said.

"And I also want to walk the track when I get up there on Thursday.

"Another alternative is to look at our chances of getting a run in the fillies and mares race on Millions day."

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
