Central Queensland jockey Luke Dillon has been suspended for a month for attempting to manipulate the scales at the Mackay TAB meeting.

Central Queensland jockey Luke Dillion has been suspended for a month after pleading guilty to attempting to manipulate the weighing scales at the Mackay TAB meeting.

Stewards opened an inquiry after Dillion, who rode Permafrost in the second race, was seen attempting to manipulate the scales by placing his arm on the adjacent partition.

The inquiry heard after weighing in correctly, he was one kilogram over the horse's weight of 58.5kg.

Permafrost ran sixth beaten 5-1/2 lengths in the maiden race.

Dillon pleaded guilty to attempting to manipulate the scales and was outed for one month from next Wednesday.

The jockey has only recently returned to riding at TAB meetings after concentrating on riding in western Queensland.

He rode a double at the Mackay meeting on Wednesday before the incident.

Dillon can seek a judicial review of the stewards decision.
