Jockey Anthony Allen has been taken to hospital for observation after a fall at Doomben.

Basanite dislodged Allen near the 1200m in the sixth race on Thursday after it appeared the gelding clipped heels.

After being treated on the track Allen was able to walk to the ambulance but paramedics decided he should go to hospital for tests and observation.

Basanite continued on riderless and caused interference to several other horses.
