Sydney visitor Raqeeq confirmed his rating as the best-weighted horse at Eagle Farm with a strong win.

Raqeeq ($4) got home strongly along the rails to beat Ruby Guru ($17) by 1-1/4 lengths with a short head to Art Attack  ($17) in third in the Events @ BRC Handicap (2200m).

The gelding won his previous start carrying 59.5kg at Canterbury in Sydney and dropped to 54kg on Saturday.

Raqeeq is one of many stayers champion trainer Chris Waller has got from Europe having run his early races in France.

The now six-year-old has now won four races in Australia and is getting better with age.

Stable foreman Brett Killion said Raqeeq wasn't up to top-class but was suited in Brisbane races.

"He was very well placed at the weights and he did get the run of the race," he said.

"Chris likes to assess the races before deciding whether horses like Raqeeq stay here or head back to Sydney."
