The Zeditave Stakes is a Group 3 race for three-year-old colts and geldings conducted by the Melbourne Racing Club at Caulfield.
The Zeditave Stakes is named after the brilliant sprinter who won a Blue Diamond among other feature races.
It used to be run on Australia Day but was moved to Blue Diamond day from 2014.
The Zeditave Stakes is run over 1200m under Set Weights and Penalty conditions.
Fillies were able to run in the race until 2005 when it was restricted to colts and geldings.
It was first run in 1989 and won by Almurtajaz. Mostly run at Caulfield, it has been run at Sandown for various reasons.
The 2020 Zeditave Stakes was worth $160,000 prizemoney.
The Zeditave Stakes was a Listed Race until 2013 and then became a Group 3 in 2014.
In its old timing, it was used as an Australian Guineas lead up but not now it is too close.
