A week is a long time in racing, compare this meeting to last and it's just chalk and cheese.

The only downside is the amount of rain we are expecting, I was hopeful for a soft track, but we are staring down the barrel of another heavy track.

Nonetheless we have some quality horse flesh stepping out and I'll be looking to bet in almost every race.

I actually found it hard to narrow it down to three tips, for what it's worth I feel Dancing Gidget, Royal Banquet and Tailleur are all very hard to beat.

They are fit, in-form and all look to get lovely runs on the map.

If you like playing at the top end of the market, you should go close with those three.

Both features are very intriguing with a majority first up - 6/9 in the Rosebud & 9/12 in the Missile.

Throw in a wet track and I felt the Rosebud was very tricky.

In the Missile I'm happy to take a position as I feel Melody Belle is a false favourite.

She is favoured by the conditions, but this is clearly a prep run and the last time we saw her first up at 1200m was this weekend last year, when she finishing fourth behind Endless Drama.

She is a very classy mare on her day,  but I think a few can catch her on the hop.

Eduardo won well on debut for the Joe Pride stable and has a key fitness edge, he looks to lead for Nash and suspect he will start favourite.

The Godolphin pair Flit and Savatiano appear well placed and while it's easy to gravitate towards Flit as their leading chance with McDonald booked, I want to swing the way of Savatiano.

Had she had more weight I'm confident James would have been aboard, he has ridden her at four of her last six starts, the only time he didn't he couldn't make the weight and the other was when she ran at Morphettville.

Savatiano's best form is clearly fresh, of her nine wins, six have come first or second up.

Her effort winning the Millie Fox Stakes fresh last preparation was just dynamic and you have to remember she was then sent out the $2.40 favourite in the Canterbury Stakes [1300m] at her next start.

That form alone leaves her very well placed and she's drawn to get into a lovely spot for Rachel King.

Anywhere near that level tomorrow and she should be right in the finish.

The fifth event sees the Chris Waller trained Stardome return home, having bolted in at Doomben last start.

That being his biggest advantage tomorrow, he brings different form, which looks lethal given 8/11 come through the race behind Korcho two weeks ago.

If that race proves to be no good, suddenly Stardome is left there jogging on the spot for James McDonald.

Proven to handle the conditions and is another who's drawn to get the gun run, looks an each-way bet to nothing.
