2020 UP AND COMING STAKES – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS

Easily the main highlight of the afternoon with this year's Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes. Solid tempo anticipated with Yardstick, Marsannay and Holyfield all likely to press forward.

NORTH PACIFIC (2) returned with a bang last start when making light work of his rivals at Rosehill over 1100m. Since kept fresh (35 days) and has trialled well in the lead up. James McDonald takes over and he's drawn to get a lovely stalking position. Trending the right way and should prove hard to beat.

SMART IMAGE (3) is unbeaten and took a good step forward last start at Rosehill over 1200m. Another drawn well and looms as a major threat. YARDSTICK (6) was well backed and did a good job when too strong on debut at Canterbury. Has to take another step here, but is certainly in the right stable. HOLYFIELD (1) can mix his form, but is more than capable, big watch fresh.
