Plan B races are often fraught with danger, however Godolphin mare Savatiano looks exceptionally well placed in the $200,000 Group 2 Let's Elope Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on Saturday.

Trainer James Cummings had Savatiano primed for the Group 1 Memsie Stakes at Caulfield on August 29, however a mishap on course that day ruled her out of the 1400m contest.

Savatiano was one of the leading fancies ahead of the mishap which occurred when she fell over in the tie-up stalls at Caulfield only hours before the race.

Victory in the Group 2 Lawrence Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on August 15 had Cummings confident Savatiano was ready to break through for her maiden Group 1 success.

Cummings said Savatiano had recovered from the mishap and pitted against mares' company on Saturday expects the six-year-old daughter of Street Cry (IRE) to be highly competitive.

"She'll be fighting fit and dangerously hard to beat," Cummings said.

"This might be Plan B after missing the Memsie Stakes, but she carries winning form against the males over this distance into a race that suits a mare who has won 10 races and close to $2 million.

"Her win in the Lawrence maintained her great first-up record and there's not a lot wrong with her second-up form either."

While Cummings is expecting Savatiano to bounce back, form assessors also expect the mare to take beating on Saturday.

At $2.60 with TAB Fixed Odds, Savatiano is one of the shorter-priced early elects on Saturday's nine-race card.

Arcadia Queen is second elect for Saturday's Let's Elope Stakes at $3.20 and like Savatiano was forced out of the Memsie Stakes.

The Grant and Alana Williams-trained mare was missed the Memsie Stakes with a foot abscess after finishing fifth to Savatiano in the Lawrence Stakes.

Arcadia Queen's stablemate Windstorm holds the mantle of being the shortest-priced favourite on Saturday's card in early betting at $2.25 in the $140,000 Listed The Sofitel (1400m) while Schabau is a $2.30 top fancy in the $135,000 Very Special Kids Pin And Win Plate (2500m).
