Three-time Group 1 winner Hey Doc will kick-off his spring campaign in Friday's Moir Stakes after an eye-catching piece of work at Moonee Valley.
Connections were delighted by the seven-year-old's final hitout which saw him clock 23.59s, a quick last 400 metres relative to other horses.
"He really enjoyed his morning out there at The Valley, his race record suggests he loves the track and we've taken him there on a few different occasions for gallops," co-trainer Calvin McEvoy said.
"I think this morning was probably the sharpest he's ever worked there and Luke [Currie] was very pleased with him, as was I.
"He's been jumping out very well too, in one of them a horse went with him, which they don't normally do, and that was Danny O'Brien's From Within, who won on Saturday."
