Winning Trainer: Leon & Troy Corstens (Troy speaking)
"Very satisfying. She's as tough as nails. You wouldn't believe it but she's been up since January, this girl. Raced as a two-year-old, right into her three-year-old year. Nine runs for this prep.
"She goes back to the farm during the week and she's just thriving. The guys there have done a great job and it's tying in so well. It's a really satisfying win."
"She goes (to the farm) on a Monday morning and she'll go out in the paddock for three or four days - she still works while she's up there. Just keeps them happy. Some like going to the beach, some like going to the paddock and she likes going to the paddock.
"I just love her. She's so tough. Things haven't always gone her way but she puts herself out in front and she held on today."
What's next: "She's actually bred but really great friends in Roy and Trene Murphy up in Scone and they sold her. They had the foresight to stay in her as well. They own the mare and they'll be doing backflips up there in Scone today."
Winning Jockey: Craig Williams
"Full credit, not only to her, but also her training combination and all the staff because she's been up for a long time, so to back her up seven days later, they were that confident in her, she delivered, good girl."
Cheap sectionals mid-race: "She's not the best lead up horse, so I had to go slow for her to run out a solid mile, but she was really good today."
Took off early and gave them something to chase: "Walking the track gave me a really good perspective of how to ride my horses today through parts of the track.
"It was worth having a walk and if the clouds open up again that could change again. It was really advantageous in the way we adopted our tactics today."
Hard for backmarkers: "I would assume that nothing could come from the back with the time that we ran and she stayed on well. So far it's been tempo related. The first race was dominated by on-pace horses and I would say the last horse that Benny Melham won with is a pretty smart horse. Let's just see if there is a change with a bit more speed early."
Beaten Jockeys:
John Allen on second-placed favourite Ecumenical: "She's run super. I have no real excuses. She was beaten by the better filly today. She is coming off the back of two pretty tough runs, so maybe she was a little bit more dour today."
