"He certainly is brave. I had a feeling that he'd do that after what just happened (with Super Girl). Honestly, he's just a superstar. He lives next to the mare at home. He won't be calling out to her tonight when he gets home, unfortunately, but gee, that means the world. That is unbelievable.
"It's certainly not fair - it takes the good ones (Super Girl). If any consolation, the boys (owners) are here today. First time they've been able to come and watch the boy. He's been so consistent all prep. He tries his guts out. He's done that for no one other than Super Girl, that's for sure.
Final on Oaks Day: "It'll be a thrill. Unfortunately the boys can't get down there but, Thursday here we go. A runner at Flemington, pretty special. It'll be a little but sombre still but it'll be special nonetheless."
On Super Girl: "We're pretty flat. Jim and Lyn at home are obviously upset. Jim, he's too busy worrying about me having good luck in the last race to worry about what's going on at home for him. But we'll all get together if we can during the week and remember her. She's obviously been a massive asset to our stable and I can't thank Jim and Lyn enough or their support and hopefully we can get one just as good.
"Whether one means as much as she did, we'll wait and see. Can be pretty hard at times, racing, but glad Jordie is ok, obviously. It'll be a sombre few beers tonight. A small stable like us, everyone knows them (horses) backwards. Even all the people that have had something to do with the stable along the way over the last couple of years, no doubt they're all feeling it as well.
"The Bendigo community has been terrific. I've had phones 'blowing up'. Everyone has shown support, got behind us, but unfortunately that's racing."
Winning Jockey: Jordan Childs
"This is great for Josh. Super Girl (in Cup) is one of his better horses in the stable, and to lose that, on his home Cup Day he needed to train a winner and I'm very proud to be a part of it."
Towards the Final on Oaks Day: "He's going very well. He's a tough horse. He puts himself on speed, takes bad luck out of the equations and was very solid through the line today. I think he should go there and be very competitive."
