What a thrill for Michael Poy to win a Listed race on Oaks Day. pic.twitter.com/9XEh5bVToN
Winning Trainer: Phillip Stokes
"He just ticked over another (task). The straight is not a problem and geez he's a fast horse and he's going great.
Instructions to Poy: "Throughout the run I said 'don't fight the horse, just go with him' and he did that. He's rating the horse beautifully and he's going good.
For Poy: "He's ridden a winner on Cox Plate Day and now over the Flemington carnival, it's great. We've stuck with our riders and they're repaying us.
"He's a strong horse at home and credit to my team back at Pakenham, he's not the easiest horse to ride. Young Jordan and Jack have done a good job.
"He'll go to the paddock now."
Winning Jockey: Michael Poy
Handled straight beautifully: "He did. He was probably a little bit fiercer than usual. Usually you bounce, find the rail and he relaxes, but we didn't find the rail today and were out in the middle of the track.
"He just wanted to go a bit fierce over the first 600 (metres). I didn't hold him up and let him roll. He's a high cruising speed, 1000-metre horse. That (unplaced) run at Flemington he got caught out on the other side of track with nothing around him. He has had the tongue tie on since then.
"I saw a few scratchings this morning which I was quite happy about, especially because he's a high pace, cruising horse, less pressure.
"You see Phillip Stokes and my strike-rate together is fantastic and he's this horse Ancestry and All Too Familiar in fantastic form. They string three, four together which is hard to do as a trainer and take them up through their grades.
"This horse has now shown he's up to Group class. This was a pretty nice race for him and I've got to say a big thanks to Mr Stokes and the whole team down at Pakenham and his Morphettville team.
"He put four-in-a-row together now, he might be a bit better around a bend at Moonee Valley but he's a nice horse.
"Big thanks to Wylie Dalziel and all the owners, they've stuck by me all (through) this preparation in these types of races. I can't repay them.
