Winning Trainer: Kody Nestor
On the win: "He has been racing well in pretty strong company. Stepping out to 2000m was really going to suit him. It was a lovely ride. Put him in the right position. It was always a query whether he would get the 10 furlongs but he has done a good job today."
On the future: "He is pretty sound. He can go around in any race you set him for. It all depends on his benchmark now. He may have to come to town a little bit more. We will have a look what we do with him."
On current conditions in Dubbo: "We have a few lined up for the Country Championships. Things are good in the bush at the moment. Green grass and everyone has a bit of feed about. A lot better shape than we were this time last year."
Winning Jockey: Nash Rawiller
On his association with Kody Nestor: "Congratulations to Kody (Nestor). He is a very promising young trainer. I've had the opportunity to ride for him quite a few times and probably without a lot of luck a few times so I was very happy to repay him with a decent ride today."
Thoughts on Fast Talking pre-race: "He gave me a lot of confidence before the race, he couldn't of had him any better. He was a picture of health and felt terrific."
Thoughts in run: "We had to do a little bit of work early to get to his spot but he switched off beautifully in the run and was able to hold up there a little bit on the leaders back for as long as I could before I produced him and thankfully he got there."
Beaten Jockeys:
Tom Sherry (Express Courier): "Ran well. Took a bit to wind up again."
Thomas Stockdale (Tom's Knight): "Had to work to be there. Very honest. He tries his guts out."
Kathy O'Hara (Pecuniary Interest): "He didn't finish the race off today. A little bit flat maybe."
Mikayla Weir (Kacper Boy): "Just went too slow for me to run on from behind."
Koby Jennings (Fox Beat): "Relaxed a bit too well. Was pretty plain."
Reece Jones (Bajan Gold): "Ran super. Travelled into the clear very nicely. Thought I was going to win half way down the straight. Just didn't quite make it."
Tommy Berry (Total Recall): "Just struggled in the ground."
Tony Cavallo (Toulon Brook): "Very disappointing. Did nothing."
Cejay Graham (Black Wand): "I just thought he didn't run the trip out to be honest. He had a nice run, thought the tempo was genuine throughout the race, he just didn't finish it off."
Sam Clipperton (Rent A Rock): "OK run. Got shuffled back."
Brock Ryan (Sepulchre): "She had a tough run. Just didn't appreciate the heavy track."
Jason Collett (Amy's Shadow): "Raced keen the first half of the race. Got into a rhythm on the back of the winner. Just wasn't able to finish off."
Winona Costin (Proven Class): "Really nice run. Just needs a bit more tempo in the race."
