When trainers Richard Jolly and his daughter Chantelle cross the border from South Australia into Victoria, they very rarely head home without taking a prize money cheque with them.
The last three horses they have started on metropolitan tracks in Melbourne have all saluted with Kemalpasa and Alleboom scoring at Flemington during Melbourne Cup week while Kemalpasa added to his tally at Sandown on November 14.
The Jolly's have two runners engaged at The Valley on Saturday, Alleboom in the Listed McKenzie Stakes (1200m) and All Banter in the Seppelt Wines Handicap (1000m).
Richard Jolly said he needed time to digest the field for the McKenzie Stakes, one of two stakes races that were transferred to Saturday's program from a washed-out meeting in August.
Alleboom has drawn the second widest barrier in the McKenzie Stakes and while the race only has eight acceptors, Jolly, on initial looks, is concerned the three-year-old may have to work too hard to take up a forward position.
"He's probably 50-50 at this stage," Jolly said.
"It looks a bit tough where he's drawn and then there's the 1200 metres as well.
"I'll probably make a final decision tomorrow as I need a bit of time to sit down and process it all, but he's probably a bit doubtful having a quick look at the race.
"He's probably a bit suspect at the 1200 metres and I know there's only eight in it, but drawn out he may have to work a bit. If he had drawn a bit softer, he would most likely go over.
"He's in over here (at Morphettville) on Saturday over 1100 (metres) and he's drawn barrier one and that makes it appealing, but the prize money is a fair bit different."
Alleboom opened a $7.50 chance with TAB on Wednesday, a line he shares Ilovethegame.
The Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained Deep Speed has opened the $2.90 top elect, looking to make it three wins from four his four career starts.
Lightly-raced All Banter is coming off a last start victory at Morphettville and Jolly said barrier three was ideal for the filly.
"She didn't lead the other day, but she had in most of her other starts, so she doesn't haven't to lead, so from barrier three she can do either," Jolly said.
"She's quite a nice filly. She won well the other and ran really good time so it's worthwhile have a shot at some good prize money."
The Listed Carlyon Stakes is the other feature race on Saturday's program which sees the Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained straight-track specialist Prezado open the $4.60 favourite ahead of Godolphin galloper Coruscate at $5.
