2020 FESTIVAL STAKES – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS

Irithea has good early speed and can set a genuine tempo. THROUGH THE CRACKS (15) followed up on his eye catching run fresh when too good late at Newcastle over 1300m. Up sharply in grade off that, but gets in very well at the weights, will just need a touch of luck from the wide draw. Do expect him to get back, but he should be very strong late. Nice horse.

OUTRAGEOUS (10) won well first up at Flemington and only looks to have to repeat that level of performance to be right in the finish again. From the awkward draw expect him to roll forward and be in this for a long way. PHAISTOS (6) failed to fire in the Sale Cup, but has since been kept fresh (34 days) and has trialled well in the lead up. Rates highly on his effort first up and has to be respected along with stablemate RANIER (2) with Bowman booked.
