Truly Great proved Owner Bob Peters and Jockey Chris Parnham are true masters when it comes to Group One wins with today’s victory in the $1M PeopleStart-Kingston Town Classic.

A truly great result for the TABtouch Masters and the running of the Southern Hemisphere's richest Group One race over 1,800 metres.

Jockey Chris Parnham secured his first inspirational Group One, delivering for the WA team at Peters Investments with Trainers Grant and Alana Williams, achieving their second Group One victory of The Masters.  William Pike stormed close behind to secure second place on Inspirational Girl, winner of the Kirin-Railway Stakes, and Dom to Shoot finished third with Peter Knuckey in the saddle.

The $1M PeopleStart-Kingston Town Classic attracted a highly competitive field, studded with top guns of WA racing and interstate contender Gailo Chop. Horses from top stables like Godolphin and James Cummings, Peters Investments, Lindsey Smith Racing and Parnham Racing competed with their top hoops William Pike, Brad Rawiller and brothers Brad and Chris Parnham.

Perth Racing Managing Director, Professor John Yovich said, "the PeopleStart-Kingston Town Classic, named after the legendary three-time WS Cox Plate winner has again attracted a top filed of contenders alongside the beautiful summer weather, a terrific day for racegoers. We've had an amazing three weeks of Group One racing here at Ascot Racecourse," Yovich said.

"We are thrilled and honoured to host the TABtouch Masters and know we have something special to offer patrons, particularly with the calibre of racing," commented Yovich.

With plenty of festive entertainment planned before the end of 2020, guests can celebrate the silly season will us at Ascot's Biggest Christmas Party on Saturday 12 December, featuring the Towton Cup as well as Midweek Christmas Lunch in the fine dining restaurant, Flying Colours on Wednesday 9, 16 and 23 December.

Families are in for a treat this Boxing Day, Saturday 26 December as our popular family day returns with free entry for all. With free activities for the kiddies, including water slides, hobby horse tournaments, fairies, petting zoo, lawn games and more.

The next key raceday of the Ascot Racing Carnival calendar is TABtouch Perth Cup Day on Saturday 2 January 2021.
