Great to see him back in the winner's stall. @LSmithRacing @ATBloodstock
Winning Trainer: Lindsey Smith (on phone)
"The owner sent him down to do a bit of training at the beach and a change is as good as a holiday. The timing of the race was good. Right track, right distance and down in the ratings.
"The horse came to me in excellent order and all we had to do was change up a couple of little things.
"It was a very good ride by a very under-rated rider. I've watched him for a long time, even before I came across to Victoria. I put him on when I can. He's nice to deal with, not at all complicated."
Plan: "I thought he'd run fourth or fifth and then we'd be right for a 1700-metre race at Warrnambool, but I'll have to have a think about that now.
"He's obviously enjoying the stable, but it was very much unexpected, but you take them.
"I'm back in Perth at the moment and I would have liked to have been there for that."
Winning Jockey: Ethan Brown
On getting a winner at Flemington: "I've been to Terang, Moe, all over the place, but it's good to get the support from Lindsey and the owners. The horse won really well I thought. He trialled really well after a break between runs. The race set up really well for him. He probably hit the front a bit soon for my liking as he can wait for them a bit, but to his credit, he knuckled down late and I think he'll be better off a little further too.."
Done any work with Mr Money Bags since stable change: "I haven't done a lot of work for Lindsey. I know he's an exceptional horseman, a good trainer. He's obviously done the right thing by this horse and he's got him going really well. I'm looking forward to sticking with this horse. It was a pretty dominant win and I'm sure he's got another one in him."
Plans coming up for Christmas and New Year: "Spring for blokes like us is a bit harder so this time of year is our opportunity to make a name for ourselves, so to speak, so I'll be working hard throughout the that period."
