"It's been a great result, especially to win for Devitt and Gordons. They're big supporters of our stable so to get a winner here at Flemington is a big thrill.

"He's been a very consistent horse this prep, almost frustrating, we've been playing around with his distances and I think 1400 (metres) is his trip. He finished off strong today. I have to give full credit to (Lewis) German. He rode him very well. Really put him into the race and made him race today which is good to see and the blinkers made him more focused. It was a great result."

Winning Jockey: Lewis German

"This horse got a lot of talent and has shown it in the past. He was placed in Group 2s and stuff. He just needs to get the run right and everything in its way. It's actually a really nice horse and it was really good today.

"I thought King Magnus was quite tough to the line. I thought I was going to get past him a little easier than I did. It was a really good battle. My horse really showed his ability so it was really good for the team. It was good to get back on board for them today, really happy.

"I've ridden a lot of winners for this owner and I've won on this horse before for them. I've ridden a lot of winners for David Hayes, and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig. I've had a bit of a spell riding for them so I think I need to get these ones right and I'll be alright."
