TRIAL POINTERS

GOSFORD January 19: Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Boott have a sharp maiden prospect in BOJACK, an easy all the way winner of his 1000m heat in good time (59.94; 35.72). He's now trialled three times for two wins and looks ready to go.

ROSEHILL January 15: Annabel Neesham's quality filly ASHEMA, runner up to the highly rated Acrobat at her first start, impressed with her strong heat win in good time (53.95; 34.42). She has trained on well from her debut. The high expectations for the $2.8 million colt MOUNT FUJI could be a step closer after his impressive win in his maiden heat over 10350m (62.50; 34.76). He is a work in progress and is improving with every experience, showing good field sense to charge through the line from well back after having to change course over the last 200m.

ROSEHILL January 4: The maiden heats over 898m threw up some likely types with the winners EIGHT DIAMONDS (54.77; 34.91) and GREEN KUDOS (54.30; 34.65) showing they are ready to win races. I have been waiting for the return of Pierro 4YO GREEN KUDOS since he won his first Sydney trial in June. Has had an obvious hiccup but looks back on track after taking control of his 898m heat and doing it in style to win eased down in the fastest of the four trials over the trip (54.30; 34.65). He's unbeaten in five trials and obviously has much more talent than he displayed in his only race start in Brisbane last season when unplaced as favourite.
