The Vamos Stakes is a Group 3 race for fillies and mares conducted by Tasmanian Turf Club in Mowbray, Tasmania.
The Vamos Stakes was first run in 2007 and was won by Lekitama.
It was worth $150,000 in 2021.
The Vamos Stakes is run over 1400m under Weight For Age conditions.
It's always been run at that distance.
It was initiated as a Listed race but became a Group 3 from 2014.
The most outstanding record on the honour roll is that of Lady Lynette. The Tassie mare won the race three times in 2009 and then again in 2011 & 2012.
Deroche won for the fillies in 2020. She had won the Magic Millions 3yo Classic on the Sunday and backed up 3 days later to win the Vamos Stakes.
Notable winners of the Vamos Stakes include Deroche (2020), Life On The Wire (2018), I Love It (2016), Rebel Bride (2014) and Lady Lynette (2009/2011/2012).
The 2020 Vamos Stakes was won by Deroche from Miss Mandito and Jentico.
