Top jockey Brad Parnham plans to travel to Melbourne on Friday and ride at the Flemington card on Saturday.

Parnham hopes he can partner speedster Indian Pacific, Neufbosc and last-start winner Platoon, all three gallopers trained by his father, Neville.

Indian Pacific, a dual Listed winner, has been nominated for the Listed Bob Hoysted (1000m).

The son of Zoustar has been freshened since running fifth in the Miss Andretti Stakes (1100m) last January.

Platoon earned a trip east after a brilliant win in the Listed Cyril Flower Stakes (1200m), his first run since the Perth Cup 42 days earlier.

Perth Cup hero Neufbosc will contest the Group Blamey Stakes (1600m) after he was unplaced in a 1400m handicap at Flemington on February 13.

Parnham said he was looking forward to the opportunity of riding in Melbourne during the autumn carnival.

"It's not set in stone, but that is the plan," Parnham told The Races WA.

"There are planes leaving today (Tuesday) or tomorrow (Thursday) for Platoon and Indian Pacific, but that can change.

"If all goes as expected I fly to Melbourne on Friday and will stay there for at least a couple of weeks.

"It means I will forgo any opportunities that come up at home commencing Saturday.

"But at the end of the day you can't be everywhere and this is an opportunity you can't really miss.

"I prefer to go and at least have a crack."

Parnham says he won't have to quarantine on arrival in Melbourne due to easing COVID-19 restrictions in Victoria.

Before Saturday he has a book of four rides at Ascot and Bunbury on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.

Parnham has ridden 25 city winners this season and sits in third position behind his brother Chris Parnham (72) and Clint Johnston Porter (32).
