The well-bred daughter of Tavistock steps out in the Listed Schweppes Ascot 1000 Guineas (1800m).

Chiclett, rated a $13 chance with TABtouch, goes into the $100,000 race in winning form after scoring at Bunbury.

With Jade Mc Naught in the saddle she charged home after racing wide with cover and got over the top of Born To Try.

Born To Try made the form look good after backing up to win at Ascot on Wednesday.

The 1420m Bunbury victory, the third of Chiclet's nine starts, came first-up after an unlucky Ascot carnival.

She ran 10th in the Burgess Queen (1400m) and seventh in the Champion Fillies (1600m), but her efforts were better than what they appeared.

Ben Pearce has always felt Chiclett was a horse with a fair amount of ability, who will improve as she goes over more ground.

The co-trainer gives her a fighting chance to post an upset win in the Ascot 1000 Guineas.

"She's run some nice races even going back to the Sires as a two-year-old," Pearce told The Races WA.

"In the Burgess Queen she got caught behind horses and in the Champion Fillies she drew wide.

"She is well bred who will only improve stepping up in distances.

"We have been looking forward to see her go over more ground.

"She has good pedigree and is a half to a Group 1 winner.

"Her win at Bunbury was impressive against good company.

"I think she is up to it and can run a top race."

Chiclett will come into barrier three. Jade McNaught keeps the ride.

Solaia holds firm $2.20 favouritism ahead of Spritely Star ($7.00) and Fashion Queen (8.50).
