MORPHETTVILLE

BEST BET: TRALEE ROSE (Race 7)

EACH-WAY: CALYPSO REIGN (Race 5)

VALUE: HYPERCANE (Race 9)

RACE 1 - 12:15PM TAB Cinderella Stakes (1050 METRES)

Sirianni had market support on debut and settled well back before running on strongly behind King's Ransom at Kilmore. She draws perfectly and is solid enough in the market to suggest she'll be hard to beat. Gloved trialled nicely, beating Princess Ruffles here. She draws a nice gate for her debut and has the blinkers going straight on. Bolsonaro was good behind Gulf Of Suez and was held-up at a crucial stage before making good ground behind Knightstown last time. She draws a good gate and looks right in this. Seradess went around at $51 winning at Bendigo on debut. She draws a tricky gate but is sure to take some beating here. Starsongari and Zombie Witness have both jumped out well.
SELECTIONS: SIRIANNI, Gloved, Bolsonaro

RACE 2 - 12:55PM White Marquee Handicap (1600 METRES)

Unlaced is a former Kiwi who has been good winning her past two, the latest beating Las Richesse here. She draws perfectly in gate three and looks hard to beat again. Legend Of Zorro draws well and should be handy in the run. He was a strong Sandown winner last start. La Richesse is racing well and sure to put herself in a good spot from the inside gate. She is more than capable. ICECRUSHER is a handy mare with a good record. She draws out but could be the value despite stepping up in class. DREAMED has plenty of talent and is more than capable.
SELECTIONS: UNLACED, Legend Of Zorro, La Richesse

RACE 3 - 1:35PM Furphy Handicap (1200 METRES)

Really good race with a lot of fillies destined for better races. Highly Discreet is a filly with talent who was on the heels of the placegetters in some good races in the spring, with form around La Mexicana and Written Beauty. She made good ground when resuming at Moonee Valley and should be thereabouts. Ecumenical is a smart local. She ran well in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas behind Odeum before running favourite behind Yes Baby Yes last time. She looked good winning a recent trial. Smokin' Val strips fitter for two runs back from a spell, both at Moonee Valley where she has made good ground. ECHOES IN ETERNITY is a promising type who has been good winning two races before chasing home Pimm's Party last time and should get a nice run from gate five. THE BIG EASY maps well from a good gate, as does PIMM'S PARTY. The McEvoy pair of THE BRUMBY and THE OLYMPIAN are both first-up and could be better suited over further.
SELECTIONS: HIGHLY DISCREET, Ecumenical, Smokin' Val

RACE 4 - 2:15PM Terry Howe Printing Matrice Stakes (1200 METRES)

Garner is a promising sprinter who drops in class after chasing home Celebrity Queen and Portland Sky in the G1 Oakleigh Plate when beaten a tick over three lengths recently. His main concern is just the one win (five placings) from seven starts here, but this does look a very winnable race. Night Raid gets the blinkers for the first time. She settled back and made ground first-up from a spell. She won the Atlantic Jewel back in the spring and looks the danger. Second Slip has been very good winning all three starts in Australia for Will Clarken, the latest at Murray Bridge. This is harder but he's impossible to knock. TERBIUM was impressive at Gawler four runs back and his recent efforts have been OK for a race like this.
SELECTIONS: GARNER, Night Raid, Second Slip

RACE 5 - 2:50PM Canadian Club Handicap (1050 METRES)

Calypso Reign was super impressive first-up from a spell coming off a good speed to win easily at Murray Bridge back in January. He should get a good run from the gate and looks nice each-way value in an open race. Mileva is a nice filly who created a big impression on debut before failing at Group 3 level behind Swats That back in September. She trialled nicely and must be respected. Symphonette was outclassed behind Behemoth in the Durbridge two starts back and hit the line well off a fast speed last time behind Pariano. She's drawn a tricky gate but has claims at a price. PARIANO will get a gun run from the inside. She had a dream run beating Symphonette last and is going to be in the finish again here. TOFF LOVE was good at a price behind Taken Off last time and draws to get a nice run, while AIGUILETTE as a good first-up record and has trialled well.
SELECTIONS: CALYPSY REIGN, Mileva, Symphonette

RACE 6 - 3:30PM C S Hayes Memorial Cup (1600 METRES)

Ironclad is a promising horse who has won both starts in Australia. He sat outside Ritratto last time and was too strong. This is another rise in grade but he draws to get a nice run and looks solid each-way value. Le Don De Vie was runner-up behind Steel Prince in the Geelong Cup before running fifth in the Queen Elizabeth in the spring. He's clearly going to be looking for further but could run a cheeky race from a good barrier. Over Exposure has a great record this track and trip and also in partnership with Jamie Kah. He won this race last year and must be respected. RITRATTO has a great record over the mile. He will make his own luck from a wide gate and give them something to chase, though he has come up short in the market. LORD VLADIVOSTOK is another former Kiwi with a good record and he has appeal despite dropping back in trip.
SELECTIONS: IRONCLAD, Le Don De Vie, Over Exposure

RACE 7 - 4:15PM TAB Adelaide Cup (3200 METRES)

Impossible to knock Tralee Rose, who is an exciting stayer. She was effortless winning the Lord Reims. Her Bagot win previously was equally impressive and she should come into this improved. She draws a good gate and is clearly the one to beat. Darvin could run a cheeky race at a price. He's won his past couple at 3000m and looks to be the roughie most capable of surprising. He should be handy to the speed. Starcaster is shooting for three wins in succession and will get a lovely run up in front with Jamie Kah in the saddle. Mosh Music is a good mare who has won two of her past three. She's drawn poorly but does have a touch of quality. LONG ARM was very good behind Tralee Rose in the Lord Reims. He's poorly drawn and will settle back, but getting to 3200m should suit him down to the ground. SIN TO WIN was well tried behind Mosh Music last time and is a winner over the two miles. STARS OF CARRUM is another who won't have any issues with the 3200m, while GOOD IDEA was runner-up in this race last year.
SELECTIONS: TRALEE ROSE, Darvin, Mosh Music, Starcaster

RACE 8 - 4:55PM Morphettville Guineas (1600 METRES)

Victoria Quay is a smart filly who was very good behind Ain'tnodeeldun in the Hill Smith Stakes before winning the Group 2 Wakeful. She's first-up and probably going to appreciate a touch further but looks right in this. I think she's short enough at the $2.40. Angelic Scent was specked at a price at Moonee Valley on debut before winning a Ballarat maiden by 5.5 lengths last time and draws a good barrier. Crown Mint should be ready to fire after two runs back form a spell. STRUCK BY is a nice horse who has won three of six but draws wide here, while ANOTHER AWARD is another with talent and must be respected.
SELECTIONS: VICTORIA QUAY, Angelic Scent, Crown Mint.

RACE 9 - 5:35PM Winning Edge Presentations Handicap (1200 METRES)

Hypercane had some very good form during the winter around Persan and was OK in three runs back in the spring. He was spelled after running favourite and finishing fourth behind Coffee Armour, but draws a good barrier and is well over the odds. Hypersonic won his first two starts before running favourite at Moonee Valley back in August. He was spelled after his latest run at Bendigo but has drawn awkwardly here. Midnight Storm has been very good at both runs for the Macdonald/Gluyas stable but will need some luck from the gate and is slightly short at the $4 quote in early markets. VIDUKA draws well and he doesn't run many bad races.
SELECTIONS: HYPERCANE, Hypersonic, Midnight Storm
