Saturday Metro Preview

RACE 1 - 12:31PM Zilzie Handicap (2400 METRES)

Stan The Caddy was dominant winning here last time when ridden on speed and holding off Exalted Craftsman. He'll make his own luck and should take some running down. There shapes as a good tempo here with THE RED SEA also likely to roll forward. He led by a big margin and hung on bravely here three starts back. This weekend he draws the inside, has the claim and should ensure this is a genuine staying test. I'm going with RESURGE, who looks like he should get a nice run behind the speed and his latest effort when third in Melbourne is good form for a race like this. He hasn't won for a while but should get every chance.Ourkhani has tried hard when chasing home The Red Sea and Azzureous his past couple, and draws to get a nice run. EXALTED CRAFTSMAN had had three runs back from a long spell and tried hard behind Stan The Caddy last time. He has to lug plenty of weight but will be thereabouts. CAPE MOUNT brings some handy Victorian form over and is drawn to get a nice run.

SELECTIONS: RESURGE, Stan The Caddy, Ourkhani

RACE 2 - 1:06PM 36⁰ South Beef Handicap (1250 METRES)

Triton Rising is on debut for Michael Hickmott and has won three of 14 starts. He draws to get a gun run from gate two and is sure to take some beating here first-up in SA. Tequila Time has missed a place just once in seven starts here and his past two have been very good, the latest beaten 2.1 lengths behind Second Slip. Designer Chef defeated subsequent winner Viduka on the outer track two runs back and should get a nice run from gate three. AIGUILETTE had specking first-up behind Little Rich Boy on Adelaide Cup Day and his second-up record is sounds. PORT VALE found the line well behind Night Raid in the Matrice Stakes and should be in the mix. HANDSOME RETURN hasn't raced since the Balaklava Cup and won the Port Augusta and Katherine Cups prior. He has a good record here. He has two trials under his belt and has won three of six first-up.

SELECTIONS: TRITON RISING, Tequila Time, Designer Chef

RACE 3 - 1:46PM Barossa Fine Foods Handicap (1550 METRES)

Should be good tempo here and La Richesse should get a nice run from gate two. She has been runner-up her past couple and led for a long way when only run down late behind Legend Of Zorro at Morphettville on Cup Day. Territory Titan will make the speed and never gave rivals a look in first-up at 1400m. He loves the 1550m here and will take some running down despite getting up in the weights. HEIR OF TAVISTOCK has two wins from four starts here and should sit handy to the speed. He faces a tricky gate here but must be respected. Don'Tdreamit'Sover hasn't raced since the Birthday Cup when beaten 3.7 lengths behind Declares War. He's back in trip here and his previous win at Murray Bridge back in January was very good. EXALTED TRAVELLER is drawn a tricky gate but is racing well.

SELECTIONS: LA RICHESSE, Territory Titan, Don'tdreamit'sover

RACE 4 - 2:26PM Adelaide Galvanising Handicap (1250 METRES)

Outlaws Revenge is an exciting youngster who was his past three. He defeated Morphettville Guineas winner Struck By two starts back and was dominant at Murray Bridge last start. He's drawn wide but gets in well with the claim and has sufficient X-factor to overcome the wide gate. MELBA STORM has won three of eight and was a soft winner at Ballarat last time. He draws a sticky gate but gets Todd Pannell. Bottom Line was very good first-up from spell behind Outlaws Revenge at Murray Bridge and draws to get a nice run. Spiriting was a good winner back in class first-up from a spell at Balaklava. EAGLES FOREVER is a former Queenslander now with Richard Wilson and his Queensland form reads well for this.

SELECTIONS: OUTLAW'S REVENGE, Bottom Line, Spiriting

RACE 5 - 3:06PM Furphy Handicap (1000 METRES)

Streetcar Stranger is an exciting horse. He ran a big race in the Lightning Stakes back in July, running second to Parlaphone, before beating Viduka and was then runner-up behind Star Hills here. He's had two wins from three starts here and should get a gun run from barrier four. Larkham is a promising type who was a soft winner first-up from a spell before drawing wide and sticking on strongly behind Appalachian last time. If he can land in a good spot early he's going to take beating. CENTREFIELD is a promising Port Lincoln galloper who on smartly there on Port Lincoln Cup Day. This is a big step up in class but she should be in the mix. Stage Front has won three of his past four starts, the latest at Sandown at good odds, and should be in the mix. Stablemate KOSOWSKI ran well at a price at Moonee Valley last time and will get a nice run from the inside. MINI BOOM has won his past three in Darwin and debuts for Kym Healy.

SELECTIONS: STREETCAR STRANGER, Larkham, Stage Front

RACE 6 - 3:51PM Accolade Wines Handicap (1000 METRES)

Tradewind is a promising 3YO, who was very good beating Sirileo Miss in the Stockade at Ballarat before a break. He's drawn a tricky gate but has a big future and could be good enough to get it done first-up here. Chill With Teejay is a promising type who ran well behind Tradewind on debut before a smart win first-up from a break. She'll get a gun run here and looks a big danger. VIRTUE was very good when leading throughout here last time and draws to be right on speed again. She'll take some catching. Ocean Reward was very good here two starts back justifying solid support in betting to beat Call Me Curtis. His overall record is sound and he maps well from barrier three. HYPERSONIC is a winner this track and trip and was firm in the markets on Adelaide Cup Day when beaten 2.5 lengths behind Viduka. NEW ROMAN was good here back in class before winning at Murray Bridge, while ALL IN WAR has been good in SA for Ryan Balfour and could run a race at odds.

SELECTIONS: TRADEWIND, Chill With Teejay, Ocean Reward

RACE 7 - 4:31PM TAB Handicap (1250 METRES)

Midnight Storm has been very good in all three starts for the Macdonald/Gluyas stable but is finding it hard to break through. He's been beaten less than a length in total at those three starts, the latest behind Viduka on the outer track on Cup Day. Cotillion maps to get a nice run from the draw. She got well back behind Justica at Murray Bridge last time but must be respected. Call Me Curtis has missed a place just three of 19 starts here and is sure to be in the mix from barrier three. VIDUKA was good winning on Adelaide Cup Day. He draws to get a nice run but is up in the weights. AMBIDAZZLE was favourite behind Lord Vladivostock here last time out and has been in the money at six of eight starts here.

SELECTIONS: MIDNIGHT STORM, Cotillion, Call Me Curtis

RACE 8 - 5:06PM Autumn Racing Carnival at Morphettville - May 1-15 Handicap (1950 METRES)

Unlaced has won four races all at a mile and she was favourite on Adelaide Cup Day when fourth behind Legend Of Zorro. She's poorly drawn but must be given plenty of thought and was tried in the NZ Oaks over 2400m this time last year. Mr Pocket is a lightly-raced 3YO being aimed at some good races this campaign. He was runner-up behind Biarchi last October and found the line strongly first-up from a break at Murray Bridge. He's drawn a sticky gate but has more upside than most and is big odds. Dreamed is out in trip and draws a nice gate. She has a good record here on the Parks and is another more than capable of winning in this class. THE SIDEKICK maps well. He led them up and stuck on well behind Master Of Zerprise last time. MASTER OF ZERPRISE has won four of his past five back in class. This is harder but he will keep coming late in the race. KYSHAKA was super impressive at Murray Bridge when she cruised into the race and won by 2.6 lengths. Her best is certainly good enough for this class. MONTEFERRANTE is back from Melbourne and was placed at her only start here.

SELECTIONS: UNLACED, Mr Pocket, Dreamed

RACE 9 - 5:41PM Dominant Handicap (1400 METRES)

Neodium was impressive here last time out, leading throughout this track and trip to beat Does It. He's lightly-raced and has some talent, but also a horror wide gate to contend with. Vapid is a Victorian with a good record and was runner-up at Kilmore two runs back before starting favourite at Ararat last time. She gets in well with the claim and must be given plenty of thought in an open race. Cannot Be Serios won two of four starts before a break and has a good fresh record. WHEN STARS ALIGN was good behind Load And Go last time but draws poorly. THE OLYMPIAN could be an improver here second-up, likewise stablemate MACCABEE, who is drawn wide.

SELECTIONS: NEODIUM, Vapid, Cannot Be Serios
