Winning Trainer: Robbie Griffiths & Mathew de Kock (Mathew speaking)

"Well done to all the owners who were pretty despondent after leaving Flemington last time but Robbie and myself never gave up belief in the horse and you can see his ability today.

"Jamie (Mott) rode a spectacular race and I knew he was in the right place but he's got a very good sprint, this horse, which puts him in with a big shout.

Sydney aspirations and longer 2yo races: "Definitely. That's our thinking. With our facilities we can keep horses ticking over and with the team at home everyone has done a great job so we're heading that way. The extra week (with their carnival moved back a week) is advantageous to us at this stage."

Winning Jockey: Jamie Mott

"He's alway shown ability and from a few wide barriers we've ridden him a little negative and not everything on the day worked out for him.

"In the small field today, even though it was a muddling run race we were in striking distance and when they quickened the tempo at the 650 metre mark, I was able to pop three-wide and I was pretty confident from there that I had Micro covered and on form he was probably the only one to beat. My bloke went on and won well.

"He's a really nice little horse and he's got a lot of improvement to come so why not have a throw at the stumps in Sydney and it's probably the right time to do it."

The wind: "It was quite strong. Even going to the barriers, especially with the young ones, it can upset them a bit. It will be really important to find cover. At Mornington on a firm deck you want to find cover and I'll probably be looking for those (horses) third or fourth on the speed with cover."
