An interstate campaign could be a possibility for Yosemite after she runs in The Big Screen Company Handicap at Sandown.

Robbie Griffiths has not ruled out a Sydney Autumn Carnival challenge with lightly-raced Yosemite but expects the Adelaide Carnival is a more genuine target. 

Yosemite will attempt to build on her first-up win at Pakenham earlier this month when she runs in The Big Screen Company Handicap (1300m) at Sandown on Wednesday. 

Griffiths, who trains in partnership with Mathew de Kock, has Yosemite entered in two races at Randwick during The Championships – the Group 1 Coolmore Legacy (1600m) and the Group 2 Arrowfield Sprint (1200m) – both on April 17. 

"Those noms close early and you put those horses in and see where they take you," Griffiths said. 

"But because she's still a ratings horse, we could poke along here for a bit longer and look at Adelaide." 

Even though Griffiths is favouring remaining in Melbourne to build Yosemite's rating with potential trip to Adelaide, he is not put off by potential wet tracks. 

Griffiths said Yosemite defeated Poland on heavy ground to break her maiden status last August. 

Poland went on to win at Flemington during the spring, returning to capture the Group 2 Autumn Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield in February. 

Yosemite herself was immediately tried at stakes level after her maiden victory, taking on the Listed Cap d'Antibes Stakes (1100m) at Flemington in September. 

"Some of the form around her has been good," Griffiths said. 

"Even though she won a maiden, she then went and ran sixth behind September Run and Swats That at Flemington and her run was quite good. 

"She galloped well Saturday morning, but it's a progressive race with some nice types, that are lightly-raced, and they're trying to do the same sort of thing as we are. 

"But, from a good draw, with the right run, she has the talent to take the next step."
