Winning Trainer: Chris Waller
On the ride: "It was a tricky draw. James' (McDonald) first plan was to try and slot in third and fourth but that didn't quite eventuate. So he rolled forward and actually did quite a bit of work early, but it was good to see him back off the speed in the middle stages and I think that gave him a really good sprint and he was very strong through the line."
On leading all the way: "I guess a horse being in front, they can do what they want and not be dictated to. When it's a stop start affair or a big field it's just like driving a car on the motorway, you can get a bit frustrated. So he took that out of the equation and made it his own race."
On what's next: "We reset our sights after the spring, just lowered them and thought we'd target these types of races. Realistically they're his races, it would be wishful thinking to say we could freshen him up and bring him back in seven days for a Doncaster but I think we actually tried it last year and it didn't work (finished 14th). So I'll have a chat to the owners and see what they want to do, but I think there's a JRA Plate or something similar in two or three week's time."
Winning Jockey: James McDonald
On the win: "He bowled along really nicely and got into a lovely comfort zone."
"I wasn't going to slow but in a comfortable rhythm. He railed like a greyhound and just dashed away."
On his pet trip: "He's ideally suited over 10 furlongs, probably just a bit sharp for him over the mile trip."
"He'll pick up a lot of prizemoney running around in these sort of races."
Beaten Jockeys:
Kerrin McEvoy (Master Of Wine): "Nice run. Just controlled by the front."
Tim Clark (Entente): "Went really well. Had a nice run behind the speed."
Tom Marquand (Mr Satchmo): "Just overdid it a little bit. Probably getting over further on wet ground will be his gig."
Jason Collett (Looks Like Elvis): "Travelled too strong on a steady tempo."
Rachel King (Paths Of Glory): "Really happy with him. He drew a bit awkward so had to get back but stormed home really well."
Sam Clipperton (Avion Fury): "Is racing super. Just needs a drop back in class."
Craig Williams (Aliferous): "She raced really well today. She ran second in this race last year. It was identified by her trainer Kris Lees that it was a lot deeper race this year. Under the circumstances she raced extremely well."
Glen Boss (Girl Tuesday): "She is just going through the motions at present."
Andrew Adkins (Joigny): "Outclassed. That race didn't suit with a slow tempo and sprint home."
