Winning Trainer: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott (Adrian Bott comments)

On the run: "He's a lovely horse, a lovely type of horse. He just keeps on giving as you saw today. I think there's still a bit more there, which it was great to see him respond when he was under pressure and I'm sure he'll continue to do that over a bit further."

On getting up to the Derby distance: "We really thought he'd excel stretching out to that trip (2000m) today, so it was good to see him tick that off. As I said everything we've seen from him at home and in his career to date gave us the indication that he would (get further). Tim (Clark) was able to give him a lovely ride, he just got into a nice rhythm, a nice even tempo. He's probably not the most brilliant in terms of turn of foot but he'll keep giving for you all day.

Winning Jockey: Tim Clark

On the win: "He's always shown a nice bit of ability, first time he's been out over an extended trip and he really enjoyed that, he's progressing the right way."

Last start and stepping up in trip today: "Just found the other day with the tempo of that 1500m race he never got any chance to get into any rhythm.

"Stepping up to 2000m today it looked like he was going to be able to do his own thing in front.

"They took the blinkers off, he relaxed lovely and conserved every bit of energy that he could and he was too strong for them late."

On his future: "He's a lovely big horse, mentally he's still probably a preparation away, but he's three-year-old with nice promise."

Beaten Jockeys:

Kerrin McEvoy (Cherry Tortoni): "He ran well. Barrier didn't help us. Put up a nice effort to do his best work the last bit."

Hugh Bowman (The Frontman): "He was a bit keen today. He needs to settle."

Tom Marquand (Young Werther): "Ran super. Next week looks more his go with a bit more distance."

Josh Parr (Fields Of Honour): "Could be looking for the paddock."

James McDonald (Favreau): "He was OK. I was expecting a bit more to be fair."

Regan Bayliss (Just A Jedi): "Think he is going for a spell now."

Rachel King (Prompt Prodigy): "Massive run. He's a horse who is still progressing going forward to next week."

Brenton Avdulla (Rondino): "Nice big horse but I just reckon everything is a bit too early for him."

Andrew Adkins (Zakspeed): "Ran a super race."
