Brighton trainer Stuart Gandy delivered the quinella in the 2YO maiden in Launceston on Wednesday night courtesy of his highly promising youngster Geegeeluckystar ($1.50 fav) scoring a convincing win over stablemate Spelling Bee ($11).

Geegeeluckystar debuted with an eye-catching second in Hobart last Sunday week but this time rider Siggy Carr sent the gelded son of Wordsmith straight to the front from a wide gate, which proved to be the winning move.
Geegeeluckystar (Wordsmith-Miss Mana) was never headed on his way to an almost four-length win over Spelling Bee with first-starter Needs Remembering ($4.80) a nose away in third.
"I was really pleased with his debut effort and tonight it looked a nice race for him, and he didn't disappoint," Stuart Gandy said.
"He still has a bit to learn, and I think he is going to be a very nice three-year-old."
The flashy chestnut gelding is a full brother to Gee Gee Manpower that has won three and placed eight times from 23 starts.
"He is a different type to his older brother (Manpower), but he has been hard work getting him to the race and I have to thank all of my team for the hard work they all have put into this horse."
Geegeeluckystar is owned by his breeders Paul ad Elizabeth Geard who have had enormous success with the progeny of their stallion Wordsmith that stands at their Gee Gee Horse Stud at Broadmarsh.
