Winning Trainer: Chris Waller
On the win: "She's a decent filly obviously. Was good to see her win like that, she had a wide draw, she went back. Sat a little bit wide but Tommy (Berry) never panicked and just showed a great turn of foot and acceleration at the 300m mark and that proved to be the winning break."
On if he always thought she was quality: "Yeah, right from day one she's been a little bit special. But obviously since she's come back this time in with a bit of age and maturity she's gone to a new level."
On what his highlight is on a race day like today: "Like last week it's a great day's racing. Slipper day last week set the scene for today. We've got great weather and great horses and it's good to see jockeys and trainers from all over Australia and yeah there's lots of highlights today."
"For me personally it would probably be the TJ (Smith) if Nature Strip could defend his title it would be pretty special. He's very well, we opted to stay away from two weeks ago (The Galaxy) and instead we've got a fresh horse four weeks in between runs ready to charge."
Winning Jockey: Tommy Berry
Thoughts on Kiku's win: "It was a massive effort from her today. She had cover for parts of the race but for most of it she was three wide. That was a chance we took from the barrier. I just liked the way she put them away so easily and she switched off when she got there. She has got bigger things in store that's for sure."
Thoughts in transit: "I had cover behind Easy Campese coming to the corner. Kerrin (McEvoy, Poland) was trying to push me out of the way and that had her drop the bridle coming to the corner and I thought I was in a bit of trouble. I forgot about Kerrin in the end and let her balance up, that's when she really hit the line strong."
Beaten Jockeys:
Kerrin McEvoy (Poland): "Ran well."
Damien Oliver (Embolism): "He ran ok. Think he'll be a better gelding."
Josh Parr (The Irishman): "Terrific effort. Horse still learning his craft. There's plenty still in store for him."
Tim Clark (Marsannay): "He's had enough. At the end of his prep."
Brenton Avdulla (Easy Campese): "Had a lovely run."
Craig Williams (Achiever): "Clearly had excuses. Would like to have the ride again."
James McDonald (High Supremacy): "He was brave. Very unlucky. Went really well. Be a nice horse."
Glen Boss (Black Duke): "This horse goes alright. Lacks a lot of confidence. Needs to go to the bush and win a few races."
Grant Buckley (Spanish Fighter): "Big jump up in class. He ran super. He does a really good job the trainer."
Regan Bayliss (Silent Thunder): "Still a little immature. More in store next preparation."
Jason Collett (Impressive Lass): "Raced very keen. Didn't see out the mile strong."
