- Tom Marquand came to Australia for a riding stint in 2020 knowing William Haggas was sending a couple down under for The Championships. He rode them to 3 wins from 4 starts.
- Fairytale endings are not always realised - Gunsynd lost his farewell race, Intergaze held off Octagonal in his last race and Grand Armee did the same to Lonhro.
- But the biggest of them all was Winx retiring and she did have the great curtain call taking the 2019 edition. She finished on 33 straight victories, with 25 of those in G1 races. That means she won as many G1s as Black Caviar won races.
