Mark Newnham is keeping a close eye on the weather ahead of Greysful Glamour’s G1 bid at Randwick.

Greysful Glamour is a simple puzzle to solve.

If the track is good, she will compete hard, if it's rain-affected, her chances rapidly diminish.

And with a forecast for possible showers in Sydney on Saturday, trainer Mark Newnham is understandably anxious.

"Her chances really just depend on the weather," Newnham said.

"If she gets firm ground, she's in really good form and she will run well. If it rains, I may not even run her.

"At least she is pretty easy to read these days."

If Greysful Glamour does get conditions to suit, Newnham can make a case for her in Saturday's G1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) at Randwick.

While he concedes proven top-level performers Colette and Probabeel have a weight advantage, he believes his mare's G2 Villiers Stakes win holds her in good stead.

"The class mares generally win these races because they're well in at the weights," he said.

"Her best win is a Group Two Villiers over the track and distance, so if she gets those conditions on Saturday she will run well and she did carry 56 in the Villiers, which isn't easy for a mare to do."

A field of 13 has been assembled for the Queen Of The Turf.

Greysful Glamour has drawn barrier 11 with Josh Parr to ride.
