Godolphin filly Cloudy has won a second stakes race during the Adelaide carnival claiming the Group 3 Breeders' Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville.

The James Cummings-trained daughter of Frosted had two weeks earlier lowered the colours of stablemate Translation in the Listed Dequetteville Stakes (1050m) at the same course.

Making full use of the inside draw under Todd Pannell, Cloudy ($8) held off a determined bid from Karacasu ($5.50) with the $4.80 favourite Isles Of Avalon in third place.

Godolphin spokesman Sean Keogh said Cloudy was again deserving of her victory on Saturday as the stable held a big opinion her from the outset.

Cloudy ran third to Ingratiating and General Beau in the Maribyrnong Trial on debut at Flemington

"On debut she faced some of the best colts we had around in Melbourne and we've seen what they've gone on and done," Keogh said.

"We kept her to restricted company to give her some confidence. She put her maiden away in good style and came over here to South Australia and put away a black type race.

"We felt like she went on from the run and James was very happy with the way she went into the race today."

Pannell said his concern ahead of Saturday's race was the rise in trip from 1050m to 1200m.

While Cloudy was a little 'fizzy' pre-race, Pannell said she was calm by the time she reached the barrier.

"The pony trotting her around the gates calmed her down really well and the ear muffs are on too," Pannell said.

"Once I got a leader and got a bit of cover in the race she went nicely in the run and had a good turn-of-foot.

"It's really good to get a couple of wins on the board and get a couple of stakes races for Godolphin."
