Turk Warrior ended his summer preparation with a win in the Tasmanian Magic Millions Classic in Launceston that followed a win in the $150,000 Gold Sovereign two weeks earlier.

The Glenn Stevenson-trained youngster tuned up for Sunday's race with an effortless trial win in Longford on Tuesday over 700m, defeating Dawn Eagle and Oxy Dream by almost two lengths.

"I'll see how he is tomorrow morning (Wednesday) and if everything looks right, he will head to Hobart on Sunday," Stevenson said.

"He is a bit burly, and he should take a bit out of today's trial.

"We only have two starts in mind for him here in Tassie this season and the other one is the Sires Produce over 1400m in Hobart on Sunday fortnight.

"We could slip across the water to Melbourne for a run before we tip him back out, but we will wait and see what unfolds here in Tassie before we make any interstate plans."

Turk Warrior (Outreach-Ehor) was on the market and at one stage looked set to head to Hong Kong, but the potential buyers lowered the offer, which was rejected by the gelding's owner, Seyit Basol.

The gelding has had four starts for as many wins and $233,050 in stakes.

Sunday's race has attracted nine nominations, and all are likely to accept.
