The latest batch of inductees to the Australian Racing Hall of Fame have been announced.
Octogenarian trainer Les Bridge is one of 10 industry stars set to be inducted into the prestigious Australian Racing Hall of Fame.
Bridge, who last spring won The Everest with Classique Legend, will be officially anointed at a ceremony in Adelaide next month.
He will be one of two trainers bestowed with the honour, along with the late Guy Walter.
Also being promoted into the rarefied club will be leading administrators and figures Bob Charley AO and John Messara AM, while Walter's 13-time Group 1 winner Tie The Knot joins Red Anchor as one of four horses inducted this year.
In the jockey category, Richard 'Darby' McCarthy OAM will be among those recognised for their incredible contribution to the industry.
Australian Racing Hall of Fame chair Brendan Parnell described the calibre of this year's inductees as outstanding.
"We look forward to honouring those living and past by acknowledging their impressive achievements on and off the turf and their world-renowned contributions to the world of racing," Parnell said.
The Hall of Fame covers four categories – horses, trainers, jockeys and associates – and is an honour given to those considered to have made an indelible mark on the sport.
