If John Thompson gets his way, promising Rosehill winner Xtremetime will head to the paddock and be brought back for the prestigious Princess Series races in the spring.

The Randwick trainer has a healthy opinion of the two-year-old, who remains undefeated this campaign after adding Saturday's Listed Woodlands Stakes (1100m) to her first-up win at Canterbury.

"I think she's a promising filly," Thompson said.

"I said that to Brenton (Avdulla) before he rode her at Canterbury and she got the job done there. She was a little bit green in front but today she showed that she can come from behind as well from a wide draw.

"I think she's got a very bright future.

"I will have a talk to the owners, I never make a decision on race day, but I would give her a freshen up and bring her back for the three-year-old fillies series in the spring."

From barrier 11, Avdulla allowed Xtremetime ($8) to find her feet early, easing to the outside in the straight and she let down strongly to outclass Ashema ($7) by a short head with Shihonka ($5 fav) two lengths away third.

A $160,000 Magic Millions purchase, the filly is by Newgate Farm's freshman sire Extreme Choice, who despite having major fertility issues has produced four individual winners from just 12 runners, highlighted by Golden Slipper hero Stay Inside

Xtremetime is Thompson's only horse by the stallion.

"I wouldn't mind a few more. It's a shame he's a bit infertile, they're natural athletes," he said.
