Dubbo-based Kody Nestor will send a duo of live chances to the big smoke on Saturday, with Jailbreak and Golden Gorge set to line up at Randwick.

Jailbreak will take his place in the Benchmark 78 (1100m) off the back of a third placing in the Wagga Town Plate, whilst Golden Gorge will be looking for back-to-back wins in the Tab Highway (1400m).

Jailbreak won at Canterbury to begin his campaign, and has placed in every start since, including the WRA Country Championship Qualifier.

Kody Nestor said he's pulled up well since his tough run in the Wagga Town Plate.

"He's come through it really well, he'll head to Randwick on Thursday to settle in," he said.

"We've kept him on fresh legs since the run.

"Anthony Cavallo, his main jockey, come over and galloped him this morning, I was tickled pink with his work and he's right on track.

"He's in good order and I couldn't be happier with him."

A son of Rubick, Jailbreak has built an impressive record through the early stages of his career, notching up over $155,000 in stakes.

His benchmark has jumped from 66 at the end of last preparation, to 74, leaving Nestor no choice but to race him in Sydney.

Nestor will target the Saturday level benchmark races through the winter and isn't ruling out a start in the $1.3 million The Kosciuszko.

"he's at the point now where he's benchmarked a little bit high for a country level race, he gets out weighted in them," he said.

"He's going to have to step up to the mark and be competitive there on Saturday.

"He's not an overly raced horse. He's only a four-year-old so he's got a bit of upside to him.

"I'm sure he puts his hand up there to get a run in The Kosciuszko for sure."

Golden Gorge notched up his third win of his career when winning the TAB Highway (1400m) at Hawkesbury during their stand alone meeting in his last outing.

And Nestor is hoping for a case of Déjà vu, with the gelding again copping the top weight of 60kgs for this assignment.

Nestor is confident in Golden Gorge, saying he won't claim with an apprentice on board.

"He's come through his run really well. We've kept him on fresh legs. It was a good win with a big weight and he's going to have to carry it again there on Saturday," he said.

"In saying that, he's probably coming towards the end of his prep, but he had a 1000m jump out on Saturday and I'm really happy with the way he's come through it.

"We looked at an apprentice. I couldn't quite find one that suit him, so I ended up going with Rory Hutchings, who is a heavyweight rider so he's not going to carry much dead weight and he's ridden the horse before which is a big benefit."
