Harry Coffey made a rare visit to the metropolitan area and left with a win on Biometric at Caulfield.

The forced exit of a number of Victorian jockeys to Queensland may have opened the door for Harry Coffey with the Lindsay Park stable. 

Coffey has slipped under the radar in recent years however he is tracking towards a career high this season, already approaching 70 winners and insight of the 80 he rode during the 2015-16 season. 

Suffering from cystic fibrosis, Coffey has to pay extra attention to his body and at certain times of the year needs hospitalisation for a "grease and oil change" to build on his career. 

Coffey had great success with the Darren Weir stable and rode his sole Group 1 winner for that stable, Sopressa in the 2018 Australasian Oaks, but in recent years has been mixing up who he rides for. 

Recently he has had support from Lindsay Park and with the likes of John Allen, Ben Allen, Craig Williams, Jye McNeil and Jamie Kah riding in Queensland and Mark Zahra not riding, Coffey made a rare visit to a Melbourne metropolitan meeting. 

It paid off with Coffey guiding home Biometric in the Enable Professional Services Handicap (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday, a day after posting a win aboard Tycoon Beau for the stable at Ballarat. 

Coffey's previous city win in Melbourne came aboard Queen Guinevere at Sandown in March. 

"Going forward hopefully we can put some more wins together," Coffey said. 

"They've (Lindsay Park) got a lot of horses and it's good to be involved with stables who have high quality horses and lots of them. 

"It's good to get a couple of wins and at this time of year, it gives fellas like myself a bit more of an opportunity in town and you have to grab it by the horns and make the most of it. 

"That's we did and thanks to Biometric, he put on a great display."
