2021 MORETON CUP – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
SPLINTEX (1) fought on well when beaten just 1.5L in a strong field of sprinters in the G1 Doomben 10,000 last time. Suited coming back in grade and he was brave in winning the Hall Mark Stakes at Randwick two back. Aided by the draw on the fence. Looks well placed.
VARDA (8) was impressive second up when charging home to win the Listed Chief De Beers at Doomben. Has a win and a placing from two previous third up attempts and could go right on with the job. THE ASTROLOGIST (7) also made ground when fresh in the Chief De Beers, finishing less than 2L behind Varda. Hasn't missed a placed second up and has won two of three tries at this distance. Improver.
SCALLOPINI (3) has won four of eight fresh attempts so look for him late while BALLER (4) won well first up at Listed level to add to a good record at 1200m.
