While many are hoping for a fairytale debut win for Invincible Caviar, punters have stepped in to back back rival Seonee into favouritism.

The latest COVID lockdown in Melbourne has stopped any potential crowd from filtering into Flemington to see Black Caviar's latest daughter Invincible Caviar in her debut.

A large crowd rolled into Flemington on New Year's Day in 2017 to see Oscietra, the first of Black Caviar's progeny, make her debut, with a third-placed finish to Limestone.

Invincible Caviar is the fifth foal of the unbeaten 25-time winner to grace the track and will go around in the VRC Member Philip Jacobsen Sprint (1100m).

Black Caviar won her debut over the straight 1000m course at Flemington in April 2009 and rank-and-file punters are hoping for a romantic result on Saturday.

However, professional punters see it differently.

While Invincible Caviar opened TAB's $3.50 favourite, she has drifted out to $6 while there has been support for the Patrick Payne-trained Seonee, who has shorted from $8.50 into $3.90 top elect.

Seonee has had one start, finishing fourth to Moon Over Alice, an opponent on Saturday, at Geelong on May 21 after missing the start.

That surprised Payne who said the filly is usually a quick beginner and had been up on the speed in her jump-outs leading up to her debut.

And Payne also said not to be put off by Seonee's appearance in the mounting yard pre-race.

"She's normally first out in her jump outs, but for some strange reason, whether it was more race day pressure or commotion at the start, but she was slow through no fault of the rider," Payne told RSN.

"But her last 50 metres was fantastic and after the line she was fantastic.

"When you look at her in the mounting yard, don't be put off. She's quite skinny and on the light side, that's just her make-up."

Payne said Seonee had trained on well since her debut performance and while she may be looking for further suggested the 1100m journey on Saturday should be ideal.
